What is QFX File

The QFX extension files are part of the Quicken financial software and are used to save the financial data imported into the Quicken. Therefore these files are considered financial data files.

It includes account balances, transactions, discounts and more information that is recorded in a standardized format.

The QFX format is Quicken's proprietary format, although it is similar to the open OFX format.

QFX files are generated by various financial institutions, such as banks and credit card companies worldwide, mainly in North America.

However, there are versions of QFX in whole American Continent, such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, the Netherlands Island, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Also QFX financial format is supported by certain countries in Europe, like Denmark, France and Netherlands.

QFX files are downloadable from the Internet using Quicken's web connection feature.

About Quicken

Quicken is a personal finance management software tool developed by Intuit corporation and currently owned by H.I.G. Capital.

It should be noted that the different versions of Quicken for Windows and Macintosh operating systems are incompatible with each other. Versions have the release year in their name such as Quicken Basic 2008, previously they were only numbered. Quicken has been available since the days of MS-DOS and Apple II.

Despite being a proprietary format, the QFX extension is compatible with a number of programs for Microsoft Windows, Macintosh and even mobile devices. However, it is necessary to note that it may not be possible to open them correctly on the target system.
