QFX File format is a financial file format used by Quicken software to exchange financial data with financial institution over internet connection. QFX file format is based on OFX (Open Financial Exchange) file format with additional features to support licensing and other functionality required by Quicken. Typical QFX file includes account balances, transactions, discounts and more information that is recorded in a standardized format.
To open QFX file you need to download and install Quicken from Quicken.com. QFX file has information stored in it in Open File Exchange Format or OFX. OFX file format was developed in 1997 by Intuit, Microsoft and Checkfree to facilitate effective financial information exchange over the internet. Quicken software uses its own proprietary version of OFX format and stores information in QFX files. But still Quicken is able to import information in OFX format and open OFX files.
In 2016 Quicken software was acquired by H.I.G. Captial. Laterst Quicken software is available for download from Quicken.com.
There are multiple other software packages with can open QFX file. This include Microsoft Money, Apple iWork Numbers, GnuCash, Fund Manager and more.
QFX file extension is also used by Quick Link Software. Quick Link Software facilitates sending faxes from computers over mobile phone data connection. There are several third party applications which can open QFX files produced by Quick Link Software and convert them to JPG, TIFF and PNG file formats.
